ASLA Advocacy Day 2016 was a big success this year. Bill Eubanks, Trustee; Kathleen Duncan, President; and Josh Tiller, President-Elect advocated with 178 ASLA participants to discuss the National Parks Centennial Challenge Fun and Green Infrastructure in Transportation Projects. South Carolina Chapter of ASLA met with staff for Senators Lindsay Graham and Tim Scott as well as staff for House Representative Mark Sanford to educate and bring awareness regarding these issues. Staffers were all very receptive and inquisitive regarding the information we shared. All agreed to place a copy of Landscape Architecture Magazine in their lobby. We have received follow up emails with staff. Each office is receptive to site visits. Please let us know if you have a project that is about to have a ribbon cutting or a site under construction to which you would like to invite your representative and we can help coordinate that invitation.
